About me
Magdalena Guillen is a veteran media professional whose career has extended across the ever evolving media landscape. She currently works at NBC as a Platform Manager and Digital Producer where she builds show level experiences and executes brand sponsorships & marketing integrations across NBCUniversal’s vast portfolio of brands and apps such as Peacock, Telemundo and NBC. Beyond working on new and returning shows (Real Housewives, Law & Order, Yes, Chef!, and The Voice to name a few) she most notably helped produce the 2024 Summer Olympics – a record-setting success for NBCUniversal, with 7,000 hours of total coverage and 180 billion minutes watched. Her previous media experience includes serving as an editor at WarnerMedia’s CNN+ during its infancy, where she helped create and develop the news and entertainment streaming platform along with content programming and shaping overall editorial strategy. Guillen began her editorial career as a homepage editor for AOL and Yahoo! where she led a team that curated breaking news, entertainment, commerce and TikTok content. She also produced original entertainment stories, covered red carpet events & award shows, and interviewed numerous A-list Hollywood celebrities. Piqued by her interest from a young age in both storytelling and impacting her community, Guillen pursued journalism at California State University, Fullerton, and holds a B.A. in Communications and American studies. She is also a published poet and book author, a mentor in the Step Up women’s network, and was formerly a consultant for the largest Latino civil rights organization, UNIDOS. In addition to serving as a speaker at various communication and journalism conferences, she has been a featured guest on the Tamarindo podcast. Based in Los Angeles, you can often find her at a concert and exploring the outdoors.
