About me
Dr. Emily Clark (she/her) is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts at Marymount Manhattan College where she co-coordinates the BFA Musical Theatre Program. She teaches a variety of courses in the program, including Musical Theatre History, Song Portfolio, Ensemble Performance, The Haunted Body, and jazz, tap, and ballet classes in the Daily Dance Program. Emily LOVES teaching and exploring theatre and dance with folks from across the world, and reminding folks that theatre is about making choices, collaborating, and telling stories! Additionally, she teaches in the Musical Theatre pre-college program, helping young students navigate the audition process, educational options, and what theatrical education looks and feels like. She also Directs and Choreographs for both the college and around NYC. Recent productions include Lysistrata Jones, A New Brain, In Transit, and The Laramie Project. Emily holds a PhD in Theatre and Performance and specializes in Musical Theatre and Celebrity Studies, presenting often about the convergence of both fields.
