About me
Gemma Hebson is a distinguished theater and dance educator with nearly 30 years of experience shaping young artists across Southern California. A proud alumna of California State University, Fullerton, where she earned her B.A. in Theatre Arts, Ms. Hebson’s career is defined by her commitment to artistic excellence and community service.
Her extensive teaching, directing, and choreographic credits include Laguna Playhouse, Saddleback College, Santa Ana High School, South Coast Conservatory, and Pacific Symphony’s Arts-X-press. During her 19 years at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), she taught in the Musical Theatre Conservatory, Electives, and served as coordinator for the nationally recognized community outreach program, Camp OCSA. Her choreographic work has been recognized with the JRAY Award for Best Choreography.
Gemma has long been a leader in the arts community, having served on the Board of Directors for Dance Discovery Foundation, as the Dance and Theatre Community Leader for Muya Homeschool Enrichment, and bringing dance and drama to countless afterschool programs across Orange County. She has also conducted masterclasses through the Dragon Kim Foundation at The Wooden Floor.
Currently, Gemma serves as the Outreach Officer for Art-E Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to Entertaining, Educating, and Enriching the community through the performing arts. In 2023, she was honored with the Art-E Legacy Award, recognizing her lifelong dedication and service to performing arts education. She brings a wealth of physical storytelling expertise and a passion for ensemble-building to every workshop she leads.
